The Grimes sports complexes, where the town's games happen.
For a town its size, Grimes has invested heavily in ballfields, including one of the metro's biggest complexes. Here is what each one offers.
The one to know
The Hy-Vee Multiplex is the headliner: a roughly 50-acre turf complex that opened in 2023 with a dozen soccer fields and 18 baseball and softball diamonds. It draws tournaments from across the region.
The complexes
Where Grimes plays
Hy-Vee Multiplex (about 50 acres) - 12 full-size synthetic-turf soccer fields and 18 baseball and softball fields, plus batting cages and over a thousand parking spots. West of Highway 141.
North Sports Complex (about 26 acres) - youth and adult softball fields plus soccer green space and a concession stand.
South Sports Complex (about 45 acres) - ballfields plus the dedicated pickleball and tennis courts, open daily 5:30 a.m. to 10 p.m.
Between them, the complexes host baseball, softball, and soccer, with pickleball and tennis at the South Complex. For the pickleball courts specifically, see our pickleball guide.
