For a town its size, Grimes runs a deep bench of parks, more than a dozen of them, from a splash-pad park to two big sports complexes. Here is the full list with what each one has, drawn from the City of Grimes parks roster.
The one to know
Waterworks Park (100 N James St) has the town's splash pad, which runs daily 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. in season, plus two playgrounds, sand volleyball, ball diamonds, and shelters. It is the go-to family park.

Glenstone Park (6.6 acres) - shelter, playground, picnic tables.
Beaverbrooke Park (4.2 acres) - shelter, playground, grill.
Kennybrook South Park (4.3 acres) - shelter, playground, basketball, sand volleyball.
Shawver Park (4.1 acres) - shelter, playground, grill.
North Pointe Park (3.8 acres) - shelter, playground, grill.
Heritage Park (2.2 acres) - hosts the Saturday farmers market, restroom.
Autumn Park (1.7 acres) and Wallace Park.
