The Grimes Brief
Unlike some suburbs that buy water wholesale, Grimes runs its own water utility, from the wells to your tap. Here is what that means for setting up and paying.
The City of Grimes provides both water and sewer. It draws from its own wells and runs two treatment plants. To start service, contact City Hall at 515-986-3036; bills are paid through the city's online system.
Grimes operates a municipal water system with its own wells and two treatment plants (a lime-softening plant and a reverse-osmosis plant), plus storage and distribution. Sewer is also a city utility.
The Grimes Brief is free every Monday morning, made only for Grimes.
